HEALDSBURG
1 Day & 1 Night in Healdsburg
We typically frequent Napa (Carneros Valley, Yountville, St. Helena, and the like) but this weekend we decided to head slightly more north than usual, up to Healdsburg. If you’re looking for a Napa or Sonoma alternative, but are still dying to taste amazing Pinot Noirs or Chardonnays - this is the place!
Healdsburg sits in the northern part of Sonoma County creating wines from Russian River Valley, Dry Creek and Alexander Valley. It’s a small-town and down to earth. It’s vibrant and has amazing food, great vineyards and super friendly people.
We spent a long afternoon (tasting) and an evening and fell in love! Our first stop was…
MacRostie Winery
Loved the Wildcat wines here and the staff was super friendly. The tasting room is modern with a great outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard. Seems to be dog friendly too as the manager had a few Cavs keeping everyone company during tastings.
J Vineyards & Winery
We visited J because we heard about their great bubbly. We started with the J Cuvée XB, same varietals as Champagne - 53% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 2% Pinot Meunier… 100% delish! We also loved their Sparking Rosé. While we tasted at the bar, there was a very quaint tasting room where you could order some small bites off the entry of the tasting room - next time we’ll probably go back and try that out!
Harmon Guest House
OMFG… Cutest. Place. Ever. We die.
Seriously - this place is so amazing. Modern but warm. The rooms are spacious and the decor will leave you wanting to go for that Mid Century Modern reno you’ve been dreaming of! We were welcomed with some bubbles or whatever local wines you want on the house. There’s a rooftop bar that serves dinner and overlooks downtown Healdsburg, and a pool that feels like your own little private oasis. We loved the service, modern decor, clean everything (lines, rooms, look), and character. What an awesome mod find in the middle of this small, charming downtown. We are already planning another visit back!
